Andover Ramblers

at the heart of walking in North West Hampshire and the Test Valley

Hampshire County Council have a long term policy of  replacing stiles with gates so as to improve access to the countryside for everyone including wheelchair users.

On a day in early June we assisted HCC to dismantle a stile and replace it with a kissing gate.

It was a steep learning curve for those involved as the gate was twice the width of the stile which, along with the discovery of an electricity supply cable, requiring the removal of several yards of hedging.

So thanks to David, Richard, Howard and Phil who are looking forward to the next installation.
